A grievance is usually a complaint about something that impacts you as an individual. For example, how you feel you are being treated at work. St Elizabeth’s believes that all employees should be treated fairly and with respect. If you are unhappy about the treatment that you have received or about any aspect of your work, you should discuss this with your line manager, who will attempt to resolve the situation on an informal basis. If you feel unable to approach your line manager directly, you should approach your Head of Service and/or a member of the Employee Relations Team who will discuss and advise you on how your concerns can be dealt with.
Further information on the process and policy can be found in the St Elizabeth’s Grievance policy. St Elizabeth’s has lots of guidance on reporting Grievances internally – please read through these resources first – they can be found on the staff intranet.
Allegations of bullying and harassment will be dealt with initially in line with St Elizabeth’s Grievance Procedure. St Elizabeth’s has a duty of care to safeguard the mental and physical wellbeing of its staff.
If you still feel unable to report internally, you can use Safecall.
