Whistleblowing Training for Managers

CPD Certification

Preparing managers for new legislation:

The Employment Rights Act 2025 introduces significant changes to UK whistleblowing law.

Research shows that 50% of employees raise concerns with their line manager first. Yet only 21% of line managers have received formal training on how to respond — and of those, just 19% received any in-person training.

That gap carries real risk.

A mishandled disclosure can lead to escalation, retaliation claims, and significant legal and reputational damage. (Source: Safecall Whistleblowing Benchmark Report 2026)

This course closes that risk gap.

Frequently Asked Questions

Whistleblowing training for managers equips people managers and team leaders with the knowledge, skills, and legal understanding to respond correctly when an employee raises a whistleblowing concern. It covers current UK whistleblowing legislation, the difference between whistleblowing and grievances, how to encourage employees to speak up, how to respond to a protected disclosure, and how to protect and support whistleblowers following a report.

The course is designed for people managers, team leaders, new managers, and operational managers — anyone with direct responsibility for a team who may be the first point of contact when an employee raises a whistleblowing concern.

The whistleblowing training for managers course is priced at £1,495 plus VAT for up to ten participants.

The online course runs for 2.5 hours.

A whistleblowing disclosure relates to wrongdoing that is in the public interest — such as fraud, health and safety risks, or illegal activity — and is protected under the Public Interest Disclosure Act 1998 (PIDA). A grievance is a personal complaint about an individual’s own employment situation. The distinction matters legally: the two processes carry different obligations and protections, and misidentifying a whistleblowing concern as a grievance is a common and serious mistake.

Yes. The Whistleblowing for Managers course is CPD certified.

‘I learnt a lot about making a safe space for colleagues to speak up. I can sometimes find online training difficult – but this session was amazingly engaging.’

William Jackson Food Group

“I think the structure of the course worked well with the background to Whistleblowing legislation and then the specific steps for managers. I think the content was really practical and managers would be able to apply this in the workplace.”
