Important Duty of Care Update for All Clients
Deadline: 18th November 2025
From 18th November Identity Verification with Companies House will become mandatory for all UK Directors, and Persons of Significant Control (PSC) or LLP Members of UK companies.
Safecall has a duty of care to make you aware of this, as failure to comply becomes a criminal offence from this date, and has substantial penalties:
- Unlimited fines
- Potential imprisonment
- Directors facing possible disqualification
- Companies will not be able to incorporate, appoint new directors, or file documents without verified individuals
- Unverified directors will be marked publicly on the Companies House register, potentially causing reputational damage and operational difficulties when dealing with third parties.
To avoid non-compliance, please forward this email on to the most appropriate contact or contacts within your organisation.
Our parent company, Law Debenture, is an Authorised Corporate Services Provider (ACSP) for Companies House and can help support the compliance process for those affected organisations.
If you require support on this business-critical requirement, please email our expert team at [email protected]
Identification verification is part of the The Economic Crime and Corporate Transparency Act 2023 (ECCTA) legislation. If you would like more information about compliancy with this law, please explore the link below:
