Last night, the Grosvenor House Hotel in London played host to one of the most prestigious events in the UK business calendar – The Lloyd’s British Business Excellence Awards. This glittering ceremony brought together some of the country’s most innovative, resilient, and purpose-driven organisations to celebrate achievement, creativity, and impact across more than 20 categories.

For the second year running, Safecall was proud to stand among the finalists, this time in the Vistage Growth Business of the Year category. Being shortlisted for this award is a testament to the incredible progress we’ve made as a business – from expanding our global whistleblowing and compliance services to supporting organisations in over 130 countries. It reflects the dedication of our team and the trust our clients place in us to help foster ethical, transparent workplaces.
While we didn’t take home the trophy, we were in exceptional company. The winner of our category, Modus Rail, is a truly inspiring success story. Founded by two engineers who invested their personal savings, Modus Rail has grown into a formidable force in rail infrastructure, combining technical excellence with a strong commitment to social mobility and inclusion. Their journey demonstrates what’s possible when innovation and purpose come together – and we couldn’t think of a more deserving winner.
Congratulations to the entire Modus Rail team on this incredible achievement!
Why these awards matter
The Lloyd’s British Business Excellence Awards are more than just a celebration; they are a benchmark for excellence in UK enterprise. Supported by Lloyds Bank, the awards champion sustainability, diversity, and innovation – values that resonate deeply with Safecall.

This year’s event showcased businesses across sectors from technology and education to manufacturing and social enterprise. Winners included household names and emerging disruptors alike, such as Warburtons (Family Business of the Year), ADHD 360 (Small to Medium-Sized Business of the Year), and Tropic Skincare (Mid-Market Business of the Year). Each story shared during the evening reinforced the importance of resilience, creativity, and ethical leadership in shaping the future of British business.
For Safecall, being recognised alongside such organisations validates the impact of our mission: helping companies build cultures of trust through effective speak-up solutions. In a world where transparency and accountability are non-negotiable, our work matters – and awards like these remind us that we’re part of a wider movement driving positive change.
A year of recognition for Safecall
2025 has been an extraordinary year for Safecall, marked by milestones and accolades that reflect both our growth and our values. In addition to being a finalist at the Lloyd’s British Business Excellence Awards, we’ve celebrated success at other major events:
- 2025 Business Brilliance Awards: Safecall kicked off the year by proudly winning UK Business of the Year, a huge milestone that recognised our commitment to innovation and excellence in compliance services.
- National Business Women’s Awards: Our Managing Director, Joanna Lewis, achieved a remarkable triple win – Northern Business Woman of the Year, Corporate Leader of the Year, and the coveted Overall Winner title. Joanna’s recognition highlights her visionary leadership and commitment to ethical business practices, which have been instrumental in Safecall’s transformation into a global compliance partner.
- Dynamites Awards: Safecall has been shortlisted at the North East’s leading tech awards. The final, in late November, will celebrate innovation and impact in the technology sector. This nomination reflects the strength of our whistleblowing platform and its role in helping organisations navigate complex compliance challenges.
- National Sales Awards: Chancelle Annetts, our Enterprise Business Development Manager, has also been named a finalist for Sales Professional of the Year, recognising her integrity-driven approach to client relationships and her contribution to Safecall’s growth.
These achievements underscore a common theme: Safecall’s success is built on people – their expertise, passion, and unwavering commitment to doing the right thing.
Looking ahead
As we reflect on this year’s awards season, one thing is clear: recognition is not the destination, but a milestone on the journey. Our focus remains on delivering world-class whistleblowing and compliance solutions that empower organisations to create safer, more transparent workplaces.
We’re proud of what we’ve accomplished, and even prouder of the team that makes it possible. To everyone at Safecall and the wider Law Debenture business – thank you for your dedication and drive. And to our clients and partners – thank you for trusting us to support your culture and protect your reputation.
Finally, congratulations once again to all the winners and finalists at the Lloyd’s British Business Excellence Awards. Your stories inspire us, and we look forward to continuing to raise the bar together.
Here’s to more growth, more impact, and more opportunities to celebrate excellence in 2026!
