At Barratt Redrow, we believe in doing the right thing and this is core to how we operate as a business, from looking after our people and our customers, to ensuring the highest quality build and protecting the environment.

Doing the right thing means operating to the highest standards, in a safe, responsible and ethical way, and for the majority of the time most of us do. Unfortunately, things can occasionally go wrong, policies are breached, or employees behave badly.

If you see or suspect any wrongdoing, we want you to tell us about it. We want you to feel confident in raising any concerns with your line manager or other managers, but we realise sometimes you may not feel comfortable doing this. This is why we have Safecall, our whistleblowing service, to allow you to report any issues in confidence.

David Thomas, Chief Executive Officer

When should I “Speak Up”?

Barratt Redrow is committed to the highest standards of openness, honesty and integrity in everything we do.  It is important to Barratt Redrow that any wrongdoing, misconduct or fraud is reported so that it can be appropriately investigated and addressed and suitable measures can be put in place to prevent future occurrences. We therefore encourage individuals to raise any serious concerns about the operation of our business, or the conduct of others, and commit to those individuals that they can do so without fear of reprisal or disadvantage.

You should use this independent “Speak Up” service if you see or suspect:

  • Behaviour likely to damage the business or reputation of Barratt Redrow or any Group company;
  • Improper or unethical behaviour;
  • Financial malpractice or fraud including offering and receiving bribes;
  • False or misleading accounting practices or reporting of information;
  • Deliberate disregard or the override of company policies or procedures;
  • Criminal offences;
  • Modern Slavery;
  • Failure to comply with a legal obligation;
  • Endangering the health or safety of any person (including members of the public);
  • Causing damage to the environment; or
  • Deliberately concealing any of the above.

The Group undertakes to investigate all concerns raised through the whistleblowing procedure and aim to respond to the individuals making the report within 7 days to acknowledge receipt of their report and provide any relevant update or details of the next steps.

How do I “Speak Up”?

You can contact your, free and confidential, “Speak up” service 24/7 by calling Safecall on 0800 915 1571 or online through the ‘Report an Incident’ option below. Your report won’t be traced and Safecall has trained operators to support you.

As part of your report please think about:

  • Providing clear details about where and when the issue occurred and any other key information. This will make our investigations a lot easier.
  • You have the opportunity to remain anonymous. Whilst concerns can be raised to Safecall anonymously, we encourage individuals to identify themselves so that we can confidentially discuss their concerns with them and appropriately act on the information.  You can also remain partially anonymous, whereby Safecall won’t share your name with Barratt Redrow . Making yourself available to be contacted may help the investigator to fully understand the issue and take appropriate action.
